The Australian Government recently released its Strategy for Crowded Places from Terrorism. This strategy has raised and focused the Australian business community’s interest and concern with regard to the terrorism threat and associated risks like never before. The government clearly argues in the Strategy that owners and operators of ‘crowded places’ have along with the traditional (security) risks, other exposures regarding duty of care failure and reputation.
One particular note is that the Strategy has presented other shifts in thinking, including ‘active armed offender’, which incorporates ‘active shooter’.
